This particular facial is so near and dear to our hearts. I hate to pick a favourite out of all our facial offerings, but this one I have to say is mine.
I named this facial after a Japanese term called wabi-sabi, a philosophy of embracing natural beauty in its most honest, unaltered form. After visiting Japan and experiencing this facial firsthand in the middle of Tokyo, I knew had to bring it back to Alberta.
For over two decades, Japanese skincare has embrace the healing properties of carbon dioxide, the same gas we exhale with every breath, as a way to nourish and restore skin from within. Very on brand for Earth Skin Studio. The CO2 jelly masks used in this Japanese facial were first developed from medical carboxy gel therapy, which was originally used to support healing in areas where blood flow had diminished. Soon following practitioners noticed that CO2 dramatically increases circulation to the skin, and that discovery eventually seeped into the Japanese skincare products we know and love today.

The carboxy gel mask used in this facial is formulated with Apple and Edelweiss Cell Culture extracts for deep hydration, along with Melon Phyto Placenta Extract, drawn from the fiber surrounding melon seeds, which helps gently clear away dead skin cells for a brighter, more even complexion.
