Glass Skin Facial
When I think of glass skin, I think of glowing from the inside out, impeccably smooth, and luminous. For those of you that look for that effortlessly sought after glass-like complexion, this is the facial for you.
This dermaplaning facial experience is built around refining your skin texture. It starts with gentle yet thorough cleanse to clear away the environmental stressors of the day, followed by dermaplaning to gently lift away dead skin cells and those fine, soft facial hair we call peach fuzz. We finish by nourishing the skin with a dewy mask that replenishes, soothes, and brings out that lit-from-within appearance.
What Happens During Dermaplaning?
The heart of this Glass Skin Facial is dermaplaning. For those who are curious, the technique uses a specialized sterile blade the gently glides along your skin’s surface at the perfect angle to remove dead skin cells and fine vellus hair from the surface. You’ll notice and immediate brightening effect and smoothness to the texture of your skin.
This treatment is also perfect before a big event or if your someone who loves to wear makeup. Because your skins surface has just been refined, you have to use less product, and it doesn’t cling to dry patches, your skincare absorbs more effectively into the skin as it no longer has to penetrate through a layer of dead skin cells.
This facial is perfect for those how have dry skin, are feeling a little bit on the dull side, or are really bothered by their peach puzz.
FAQs
Will the Hair Grow Back Thicker?
1
This is one of the most common questions we hear, and the answer is simply no. It's physiologically impossible for dermaplaning to change the thickness or texture of your hair. The fine, soft hair on your face, known as vellus hair, is different from the coarser terminal hair that grows on the scalp or in areas like the underarms. Dermaplaning, like waxing or tweezing, can remove hair, but it can't alter the type of hair that grows back. You can expect that soft peach fuzz to return gradually, typically over about four weeks, exactly as it was before.
Where We Treat (and Where We Don't)
2
Dermaplaning is performed on the face only. We don't dermaplane the eyelids, throat, or chest, as these areas require a different approach entirely. Within the face, this treatment is suited to nearly everyone, though clients over 35 tend to see the most noticeable results and often become repeat regulars once they experience that first reveal.
How Often Should You book?
3
Your skin naturally completes a full renewal cycle roughly every 28 days, and we like to work with that rhythm rather than against it. Most clients book a Glass Skin Facial every 4 to 6 weeks, which gives your skin enough time to complete its natural cycle before we remove that next layer of buildup. This treatment also pairs beautifully as a prep step before our Wabi Sabi Facial.
Who Can’t Do Dermaplaning?
4
We want every client to feel confident and cared for before stepping into this treatment, which means being upfront about who it's best suited for. If you're currently experiencing an active acne breakout, we'll ask you to wait until your skin has healed. Dermaplaning is wonderful for softening the look of acne scarring once skin has cleared, but it isn't appropriate during an active flare.
We also kindly ask clients with bleeding disorders, uncontrolled diabetes, or those currently undergoing cancer treatment to skip this particular service. If you have a history of cold sores, please let us know in advance. We'll ask you to pre-treat starting 24 hours before your appointment, or reschedule if you're experiencing an active cold sore at the time of your visit. These small precautions exist so your experience stays as safe and comfortable as it is effective.
